Marj Briggs
Nature in Glass
May 30th to June 22nd, 2013
Stained Glass & Fused Glass
Opening: Thursday, May 30th, 6 to 8pm

Glass Panel 130408 004"My whimsical view and love of nature comes to life as I play with glass. The glass brings life to my images of the natural world. I work both in stained glass and fused glass, in which the glass is heated in a kiln and sticks together, taking new shapes. The medium often inspires the actual subject matter of my work. For example, my stained glass hummingbird was inspired by a photo but would not have come to life had I not come across the perfect piece of glass that matched the sunset. I always know when I find that perfect piece, because I get goose bumps."

Marj Briggs has been creating in glass just over 10 years. She has taken a few formal lessons and the rest has been trial and error. Marj came to glass from a craft background and has never looked back. She is a member of the Courthouse Gallery Artists’ Co-op and works part-time at High Country Stained Glass.

Arwen’s Apparel

Ongoing Exhibition

Fabric Artarwen 2

Arwen strives to bring people joy through clothing—to see them come to life whether on stage, in the dance class, or just in every day life. She wants people to love her clothes, to wear and feel the love we put into creating them. Moreover, she wants the high quality and design to be evident and to stand up to years of wear. It’s tough, but attainable. Arwen handpicks all the fabrics that are used. She has met the ladies who do all the sewing both here in BC and overseas. It is her job to make you look good, to create for you, to listen to what you have to say about what you want to wear. We want to get to know you, so come on by.
